Dr. Aturaliya has been treating Tempormandibular Joint Disease at Duluth Family Dental since 1993. A TMJ exam is performed on each patient with this problem. Working with St. Luke’s Hospital Radiology Department, an image of the joints (MRI) is taken to visualize any damage. After the extent of the disease is determined, we work with a variety of specialists to diagnose and address the problem. Treatment options include splint therapy, medications, physical therapy and Botox therapy. Botox is a therapeutic drug used to alleviate muscle pain and headaches.
